Following the bankruptcy of Air Berlin – the airline wasn’t the only one by the way – many of the frequent flyers will not be very pleased about losing their special status with the German airline. However, Iberia Airlines has stepped in and is providing a solution for those affected – a status match.
How’s that supposed to work?
If you are currently holding a Topbonus (Air Berlin) or Miles&More membership, Iberia is now giving you the opportunity to make a move and keep all your perks and benefits.
Iberia has specifically set up a website where you can view the Iberia equivalent of your current status. Mind you, your new status will not only be Iberia-exclusive but will provide you with perks and benefits all around the oneworld airline alliance. This includes Quatar Airways, British Airways, Cathey Pacific Quantas and more!
How to status-match
- Head here and register for Iberia plus.
- Once complete, take a photo (or screenshot) of your current membership status and send it to ibpcampaign@iberia.es (To be sure, send it to platino@iberia.es) together with your newly acquired Iberia Plus membership number.
- Within a couple of days, your new status should be up and running.
Remember that Iberia the whole offer is based upon the generosity of Iberia. So, better be quick, before Iberia changes its mind.
